It was quite addicting, and I couldn’t put it down until I completed it. But there were times when he came off as a love-sick puppy who was being played by the tiny seductress. I liked his personality because he was attractive, domineering, and vulnerable at the same time. But his obsession with this girl deepens day by day as she spends more time with him than with his son. In my view, the author could well have spent more time depicting him as a key factor in Jordan’s decision to leave him and fall in love with Pike.Ĭole’s father, Pike, 38, is attempting to restore the shattered parts of his and his son’s relationship.
The character transition was not at all natural. He is not seen in the story most of the time. The author attempted to portray her as a mature woman who had been through a lot, but it fell flat.Ĭole was a jerk, and I didn’t see much character growth, even though he turned out to be a pretty wonderful guy in the end. She was supposed to be depicted as a mature and fairly ideal young lady, but she often acted her age, which was 19, and even younger at times. To begin with, I didn’t like Jordan at all. She was left to make up the shortfall in the duties they pledged to do in exchange for the option to stay in Pike’s house.
